You want him to do it, or do you want me to do it? ... You may not like what you read ... Up to you ...

Some municipal judge and a few taxpayer [over]paid attorneys and county cops have decided the outcome, so jump up and down. The truth has come out.

Everyone now, in unison, let's all chant "alcohol is evil, those who drink are evil"...and let's see who's cracking open the first beer at the end of the airshow.

I know that one thing about virtually all the aviators that I've known in my life that I respect is that they would give their lives in an instant rather than injure someone while 'operating their craft'. I'd put Patty at the top of that list.

I believe that there were 3 other people in that vehicle that Patty was driving. I don't know who they are, but I'd bet that they'd not have gotten in the vehicle and allowed Patty to drive if the haters' version of these events were true.

No disrespect to those who've lost loved-ones to alcohol-related incidents, many of us have lost someone in similar fashion but I have no doubt in my mind that PWAS never put anyone in any danger, nor would she.

Rick I mean this in the most respectful way possible. You have no idea what it is like to show up on the scene of a multi vehicle crash with ejection, and fight to keep someone alive while someone that is the cause of the accident that was DUI is unharmed laughing on the side of the road.

Triple ship scene run DUI hits a family. Family ejected only one lived from that car. DUI driver walked away fine. I was there, so spare me the poor Patty stuff. I hope that she learns from it, and that she returns to the skies to enjoy herself and please the crowds, but just so she learned from it. I don't feel like hearing that the judge, court, cops, and security were all corrupt for arresting someone driving down a runway.

Normally I would agree, the problem is that at the very start of all of this many accused the security people at EAA for being idiots and for giving someone a hard time. I am friends with several of them, and I don't think it is right that it is not even acknowledged that anything was said against them.
Then you have the DUI thing. I take it personal. It strikes home as I see it and work near it so often. If we just say Oh she won't do it again, or blame the cops?? for doing their job. When I was new with the company we had to ride along with an ambulance unit and a police officer to see what they have to look at at their end. Trust me, you don't want their job. On my day with the police officer I had to respond to and this is a quote from the dispatcher, "guy going crazy in the street" So how do you prepare for that.
I mean no harm to Patty. I think and hope that this is a one time event. She is a great pilot, and person. I think she just made some bad decisions that night that led her down a rough road. But to blame the cops, EAA security, the jury, and the judge of all being up for just giving her a hard time is a bit much.

Looks like everyone's said their piece (again) and no one's going to change anyone's mind. Thanks for the update to the court case, thread closed so we can move on to more useful discussion.

Move along, nothing to see here, thanks.
