There is a reason that cracks are stop drilled with round holes rather than square ones!

Yes...but if you read the article in the first provided link, they did canabalize the landing gear, the tail end, wing panels & some of the cowling components to get the Tu-60 airliner in the air.....not the Tu-4 bomber
