TIGGER PROJECT MEDIA RELEASE - 1 April 2012
Images released today (1/4/2012) appear to conclusively reveal the final resting place of the Earhart Lockheed 10 Electra with the aircraft seemingly clearly visible on underwater ROV footage as being completely buried under sand on the seabed floor near to Nikumaroro (image enhanced for clarity).
There also appears to be two bodies completely buried near the wreckage (image enhanced for clarity) initial analysis suggests the bodies are male and female, and of european origin.
TIGGER project leader Christopher Robin is awaiting further details from the TIGGER deep sea investigator Dr Richard Piglett and his assistant Miss Winnie Pooh, however image enhancements leave little doubt as to what is lying buried under the seabed off the beach of Nikumaroro Island where TIGGER believe Earhart forced landed and perished.
The completely submerged wreck and bodies was discovered by following a debris trail from a coral undercarriage leg discovered in an earlier ROV expedition.
All donations greatfully accepted to help the continuation of this important work.
