i have been reading some stories about the museum being haunted. kind of creepy but not really too surprising all things considered. does anyone out there have any first hand stories about such events or is it just a myth??

I can re tell the one that happened to me. It was the end of the day, and the crowd was making their way out. On the way out, an elderly couple stopped and said that they really enjoyed the museum. The man said that he had always wanted to visit and that it was much larger than what he thought it was going to be. The wife then told me that she usually doesn't go into many of the air museums with him for very long, but she stayed with him on this one. They said that they were excited to see that we had the reinactors in the WWII Gallery. I know for a fact that we have none. I asked them what they meanat and they said the young men in their WWII gear by the B-17. So after they left, and some of the lights were powerd off, I made my way back to the B-17 to check it out. No sign of reinactors, but one of the lights shines down to a point right infront of the B-17. There was something at this point on the floor, so I walked over to see what it was, and it was a USAAF patch that would have come from the shoulder of a uniform. I still have that patch to this day. Still not sure what to think of it.

I also saw this first hand. I was talking to a B-17 pilot in front of SSB, and he ended up running into his top turret gunner. They did ot have the meeting planned. Pretty wild stuff.

I always liked this C-5 shot I got 20 years ago,just wish I waited till they put the stairs up.

it's amazing how your perspective and appreciation of an aircraft changes by the simple addition of a 6 ft ladder!
Why don't you talk to the guy who runs that 60 ft GENIE LIFT in photo 4 for some outstanding views?
One question, doesn't anyone ever dust the displays? the P-51 looks like (filter this here) with all the schmutz on it-
