Anyone know of any Corsairs modified with a back seat added?

I remember years ago at a south west indiana airshow seeing one with heavly tinted windows aft of the canopy.

Anyone have pictures of this?

I can think of quite a few that I've seen. I'll root around and see if I can find some pictures.

Howard Pardue's Corsair had a back seat, I got a chance to ride with him to an air show.

Sorry, no photo's. I'm at my girlfriends house right now and my photo selection is limited here.

FG-1D, BuNo. 92436, N72NW, with the Olympic Flight Museum had one (along with a rather custom air stair type door), but this has since been removed as the aircraft undergoes restoration.

The Corsair at the Palm Springs air museum also has a back seat.

It would probably be a shorter list to name those Corsairs that DON'T have a back seat!

Gerry Beck's F4U-4 "310" has one, and the American Air Power Museum's FG-1D "Skyboss" had a back seat but I'm not sure if it still does. Tom Duffy's FG-1D also has rear seat provisions.

OK...to carry this one step farther. Anyone know of a 2 seater Corsair whose owner might be willing to carry a passenger..."For a price. Always for a price."

Mudge the passenger

Okay, here's two that definitely don't have a back seat -

CAF Corsair
Bob Odegaard's Race 57

:)

I want to know how you get a seat into a space without a canopy and that (in the stock aircraft) has a nice big bulkhead between you (the pilot) and the area behind.

Here's the ones that don't:

Vintage Wings of Canada FG-1D, Rod Lewis FG-1D, CAF FG-1D, Collings Foundation F4U-5NL, Mike George's F4U-5N, ex-Vintage Wings of Canada F4U-4, LSFM F4U-5N, Christophe Jacquard's F4U-4, TFC FG-1D, French F4U-5 disguised as a -7, Jean Salis F4U-5, ex-OFMC FG-1D, and Jerry Yagen's FG-1D. I think thats most of them.
