It's got 2200 horsepower and a 16'7" prop. All we need is a set of wings and we'll be ready for Reno! It might not go 500 mph, but imagine the wake that it would create.
Well, as you can see, work continues on our engine test cell. We've even named it after the Greek God of High Horsepower......."Testiclese."

Hmmm, let's see...300 gallons per hour at takeoff setting, 100 gallons per hour after that, and at our projected speed of 476.3 miles per hour........aww, heck with it! I don't reckon the mpg is really what we're after anyway.

Actually, this is not our first of the "hybrid" engines. We are working on getting the prototype of it built though.
This the engine that I pulled off of FIFI when we were getting ready to fly it the first time after all of that recent maintenance. It had a low nosecase oil pressure indication, but we think we now have it worked out. Testiclese here will be a perfect tool for us to check it out. This was one of our best running engines on FIFI, and will hopefully end up on Doc someday. This engine will provide us with good information on our test cell and let us know of any improvements or changes that we'll need to make with it.
We are trying hard to get it running for the Airsho, but I just don't think I'll be able to get it done in time.

Just curious, but after a couple beers how fast will that thing go down the runway? Good thing Brad's not around currently.

All I can say is it beats the heck out of those jet trucks.

Hmmm, good idea! I doubt I'd out accelerate him, but if I make it a little fat on start up (over prime) and get a little stack fire going, maybe I'd put on as good a show as he does. Ooooh, what about after I put the smoke system on it?
