I remember watching this plane go together in Chino years ago.

There have been rummors of this for a while.
I live in Brisbane and I have seen this aircraft a lot over the years - I think it is very sad for Lynette and all of us here that such a rare and beautiful machine is probably leaving but It is to be hoped that it will wind up in a good home and if it was purchased in the UK it would make a great new attraction at Duxford for a while !
And yes there is/was another flying - I haven't seen or heard of it in years
Any we wait and we see what happens.

Just for the sake of accuracy, the Valenti machine is I-MRSV (currently undergoing repairs after a belly-up) and its Zuccoli twin VH-LIX. Both were silver at one point, but VH-LIX has sported a pseudo-WW2 camo scheme for several years now.
More interestingly, it is fitted with a three-blade propeller in place of the original four-blade unit. (For trivia fans, the latter is a P-51D Hamilton Standard modified with a British spline to fit the Rolls-Royce-built Merlin).
Since the price is now "reduced", does anyone know what it was originally?
