Warbird Information Exchange

I found several photo listings on eBay showing this Brewster F2A being burned for firefighting practice at NAS Patuxent River, dated September 27/28, 1944:











I imagine this was one of the last Buffalos in service, any Brewster experts know what its bureau number would have been? I bought two of the photos and will post them here when I get them.

Chris: Those F2A photos are quite a discovery!! Could not help but note the oversize US insignia on the port wing as well as the expression "PATUXTENT" on the nose! Would be curious to know that if there were any "before" photos were taken. Perhaps for the weekly newspaper...
