How?

1. According to the NMUSAF List of Loaned aurcract, the T-33 is owned by the USAF.
2. The Cessna owner must have liability insurance to cover ground damage.

I said...
"I'd be concerned that the airport will use this to "get rid of an eyesore"... or something."
That's not speculation, I didn't say it WILL happen, just that it COULD occur.

It will be interesting to see what happens. If the airport doesn't want to repair it, I guess they'd give it back to the NMUSAF or perhaps the museum would dispose of it locally.
Again, I'm layout out possibilities, not making predictions.

Until there are facts as to what will or will not happen to the aircraft, with ownership, with airport management or insurance coverage…
