This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

That would be nice, for sure. The Fagen P-47 is scheduled for Warbirds in Review on Thursday with the Helldiver.

My bet on the P-47s is the same that there was just a mix-up on the publication. It's likely going to be Bonnie and Fagen's new restoration so two P-47s but only one razorback. But I'll still take two P-47s. Haven't seen two of them together at Oshkosh in a very long time. Bonnie is gorgeous and Fagen always does a great job with their planes so I can't wait to see theirs in person for the first time. I believe Snafu is still either being repainted or having the paint touched up. Still in the same scheme from what I heard but freshened up. Don't know if it will be ready in time. But it would be incredible if it were there.

Either way would be fine with me! I am starting to get concerned that with less than 3 weeks to go, we have not heard about a first flight of the Helldiver or the reassembled Mosquito. If those two are not ready, it will throw open the big contest. I guess Potter's Hurricane would be the other significant debutante, or it might be one of those years when a really nice trainer takes the trophy.

The fact that the Mosquito and Helldiver have both been removed from Warbirds in Review should tell you something. The Mossie has been replaced by a Tiger Moth and the Helldiver is no longer listed, it now just says Fagen Fighters with no specific planes listed.

You must be looking at a more updated WIR schedule than the one dated May 16 at
https://www.eaa.org/airventure/features ... -in-review. Where are you seeing that?

The Warbirds in Review schedule that was highlighted in the EAA webinar earlier this week did not show the Mossie or Helldiver on the schedule. There is a screen shot from the webinar here:
https://www.airshowstuff.com/forum/view ... &start=370There has been a Hellcat mentioned in several EAA releases recently. I'm assuming it will be the Fagen example. They are also sending the P-47.

The Mosquito in Chino is ready to fly, only awaiting FAA paperwork. They used the same maintenance plan as the previous Mosquito, but the FAA has to start from scratch it seems.

With Yankee Lady no longer in play will this be the first year a B-17 has not been active at Oshkosh?

I don't remember seeing a 17 last year.

There certainly were a lot of distractions on the ground. If only you had looked skyward...

Sorry, Chris!
Even I found yesterday's post a little snarky after rereading...a lame attempt at cleverness (without emojis, shame shame).
Yes, B-17G "Yankee Lady" was active over Wittman Field during 2023, running rides out of KATW with other warbirds.
As partial restitution to you and the WIX faithful, the live ATC link for KOSH is up:

Today's social media post from POF reports that they now have the CoA. Wonder if there's still time ...

They should bring both California based Mosquitos
Thu Jul 11, 2024 2:30 pm
Of course they should. But I feel like that will have to wait for Santa Maria in September.

Great suggestion to bring both of the California Mosquitos. Also need to bring Yagen's and pull Kermit's out of the museum on the field. Would be incredible to see four parked together and three flying together.
