NZ is the place for Mossie new/rebuilds. Great work! Perhaps the engines were run before hanging on the aircraft?

That paint scheme - the all silver - was that used in W.W.II on the Mossie, or is it a post-war paint scheme?

Was silver exclusive to post-war paint schemes on the Mossie?

I'm not. For historical purposes, I would just like to know if the silver paint was ever used during W.W.II. That's all.

Some Australian Mossies were silver painted in 1945, but whether that was before or after VJ day I wouldn't know.

Correct. These are run up at Vintage V12's test stand first. This is the first run on the airplane.

The silver paint on fabric is actually aluminum paste added to the dope for UV protection. It works fine as an exterior color if you don't want to overpaint in another color, so they all have that silver underneath.

What is the service life of the fuselage and wings? Probably better glues, but how long can one rely on the structure
of a wooden airplane these days?

Are they built the same was as the originals? Or are there substantial modifications to the build technique that
give a longer service life to the structure?
