Hadn't seen...so very sad for Dan Kirkland.

My attempt at a silver lining...

1) Prop blades appear wooden, so hopefully the hurt to the powerplant is minimal.

2) Before TJ's initial post, I had not assumed ASN's database would include wartime aircraft losses. The link for the FW190 even includes Turkish A-3 losses in the 1940s! I'm impressed!

It looks like there was an issue with the gear, so he left it retracted and bellied it in. The 190 is a REALLY tough design so my hope is that it won't be too difficult to get her back in the air- all it takes is money, right? And yes, those are - uh, were - wooden prop blades.

That's easily the most "correct" 190 scheme flying right now, and yes, I'm including the all-original FHC Fw 190A-5 in there... I'll let Mark Sheppard explain why, LOL. For those wondering, this aircraft's paint scheme almost perfectly replicates the Fw 190A-8 of Maj. Josef "Pips" Priller, Kommandeur of JG 26, who was one of only two Luftwaffe pilots to make it over the invasion beaches on 6 June 44. (He didn't hang around, LOL)

The Focke-Wulf FW190A-5 sustained substantial damage when it veered off the runway and suffered a landing gear collapse and prop strike.
