Corsair.... what are they doing?

Curious as to whats going on here. Looks a bit more involved than simply hoisting a Corsair somewhere.

Wasn't there a story about an FG-1D that was hung in the rafters of the Akron plant for a bunch of years post war?

Pretty rare -1A, still has the wing fuel tanks and short tail wheel.

Thanks for posting, I have seen her (way up!) at the USMC Museum, but had no idea about its history. I have mentioned this before, but the Quantico Museum makes it really tough to see the aircraft as many are positioned directly above the visitors. Perhaps great for story telling museums like the newish USMC and US Army museums in the DC area and the WWII museum in New Orleans- great for casual viewers, but tough for enthusiasts to get good angles and get close to.
