Bill said later he had put in a takedown request with YouTube, so I don't know if YouTube took it down or if the original poster did. There was a guy who was getting a bit stupid with his replies to Bill (to the effect of "do you just go around looking to take down any video of your property" and then not liking the response when Bill said yes, when they trespass). I also pointed out that there are both YouTube and mainstream media videos of the collection available online even right now because they asked for a tour and got one. I just hope the original guys get with Bill, mend fences, and go out and get video. I think they had some good editing and camera work, so it would suck if they didn't try to make things right.

Yes it's back up and I've contacted Youtube personally to have it taken down. Poor Bill Soplata is having all kinds of problems with Trolls and wise*sses about it. Bill needs some help.
Here's the local authorities to contact, I'd suggest those wishing to help also place a call or email to:

I had forgotten this thread... until the video showed up in my YouTube suggested feed. So it`s back up.
I honestly can`t decide who I dislike more - the uninformed, ignorant jack@ss who trespassed and shot the video, or the uninformed, ignorant jack@sses who cheered him on in the comments for doing it.

It just annoys me that they didn't knock on the door and then someone who knows could have told them what they were looking at. Instead what they did was deeply disrespectful and completely missed the point.

This is one of those things that has been getting more and more common...
A few years ago, I was switching cars on a Shortline railroad in AZ....was getting ready to pick up some cars and found a family taking pictures...on the train....kids were up in a box car, with mom apparently practicing her "professional" level photo skills. .... I tell them they need to get off and out of the way...and mom looks incredibly put out with me, tries to wave me away, because these cars were "abandoned"....shiny wheels and rails, no trespassing signs, etc apparently didn't say "stay out" to them....
I think a lot of the problem stems from things like tv shows, etc that seem to portray anything left sitting for 5 minutes is "abandoned" and thus fair game for anything someone feels like doing....
Education is perhaps part of it too....some would think it's pretty basic stuff...
Unfortunately, common sense is no longer common....

If you think that response to rail cars is bad, try taking an open old roadster to a public car show. Anything without doors seems to say "climb on me".
People letting kids climb on cars, and kids trying to steal parts.

I visited Connie Edwards ranch 30 years ago this summer, and he told me a story which is similar to this thread. Sometime back in the 70s he came out of his house one morning to find an unfamiliar Piper sitting on his field, and the family who had flown in were climbing all over one of his Mustangs which was sitting outside. The dad taking photos and all. Connie, being Connie then walked over to the Piper, climbed up on the wing and started jumping up and down while yelling; "Hey, take a photo of me". Dad turned around and said; "That's my airplane, you can't do that...". To which Connie replied; "Yeah, and that's my airplane. This is a private field, and you're not invited. Now get the %&#£ out of here!". They got the message, and quickly left.
Several years ago one of his old Buchons which is owned and flown in the UK visited Norway for an airshow, and was duly parked in the static area and cordoned off with barricade tape. The pilot then left off for wherever pilots go between flights. No sooner did one intrepid airshow patron cross inside the tape and ventured up onto the wing to have a better view of the cockpit. At that time we heard an almighty roar and a person came breezing through the public like Moses having just parted the sea. As soon as our trespasser realized it was the pilot he dove off the wing, jumped over the tape, and disappeared into the sanctuary of the crowd standing around. Our hero pilot stood dark faced and tried to spot the intruder, but he was probably already deep into the next county.
I guess some feel they're entitled, some just take a chance to get a better view, and some just don't give a s%#t. People..!

Yep, there are countless videos of people walking around 'abandoned' things that are clearly just not being used at the moment. You
can't 'abandon' land,
someone owns it, no matter where it is!
I volunteer on a tourist RR as train crew and you can't imagine the folks we encounter trespassing. They get crazy militant when you tell them to push on, too. I've taken to replying to that with reminding them what laws can apply if only I decide to make a call. Railroad right of way carries a lot of protections that your backyard usually doesn't.

Think there is a thread about bad goings on in airshow etiquette..Some horror stories.
