Regarding the P-40 at American Aero Services P-40N 42-105120. John I see where your saying this is being converted to TP-40. Do you know who the lucky owner will be? Flying a dual control P-40 has been on my personal bucket list for some time now. Was all set to fly Collings P-40 that went by the way side. Then was going to try and get something worked out with Thom Richards that is still a possibility, but not set in stone. Close but no cigar.

It's registered to Echo Delta Aviation LLC in Okeechobee, Florida, an entity registered to an Edwin Wilsey. Previously owned and restored by C & G Air (Chris and Gail Kirchner), it was sold and re-registered to Echo Delta Aviation in early 2018. Initially, the aircraft was sent to Thom Richard's facility at Warbird Adventures at Kissimmee, FL, to receive a newly overhauled engine, new fuel tanks installed in the wings, and the "TP-40N" conversion, matching Thom Richard's example. Then the project was sent to American Aero Services, where it appears that a thorough overhaul/re-restoration was begun. I'm not at liberty to share the most recent photos I've seen of it (in addition to being fully repainted, it now features a shark mouth rather than the "Burma Banshees" skull as before), but Thom Richard posted this video of the aircraft this past July, when undergoing an early test run at New Smyrna Beach, FL: https://www.facebook.com/airrace/posts/ ... 5927471987

F-AYAK
One of the last Garric Yak3 production.

We are currently completing the last adjustments. Taxiings are coming soon. We hope for the first flight at the beginning of 2002.

It is in the markingsof the plane of Aleksandr Nikolayevich Sitkovsky of the 15th IAP of the VVS.

I saw a Zero fly at Chino yesterday. I suspect it was the Fagan example.

That was probably the POF's Zero with the correct engine. I believe its the only one that flies with the correct, original engine.

I am sure BDK would know which Zero was flying, since he is based at Chino and has seen every flying Zero there at one time or another.

Don't be so sure! I just saw it taking off in the distance from my hangar vantage point. I'll look again this weekend. Could have been either. The POF Zero flew a few weeks back for their monthly event, but I've seen the other one being actively worked on in a nearby hangar and it was all cowled up and looked complete last time I saw it.

Hi BDK, any sign of progress on the TFC Fury with Aerofab, last I heard it was just waiting on he 2800 conversion but that was at least a year ago, pretty sure Fighter Rebuilders has the TFC T20 under repair too, any update would be appreciated :))

Both have been on hold for probably over a year now. As both Aerofab and Fighter Rebuilders have had higher priority projects

I noticed the Royal Navy Sea Fury T.20 VX281/G-RNHF which suffered serious damage in a forced landing earlier this year has now been registered to TFC as G-BCOW, which registration it wore when owned by Doug Arnold and Spencer Flack in the '70s.

Yeah that sounds right. The POF was 2 weeks ago for the first of the month so can’t imagine they would need to fly it again. The Fagen was just a IRAN so should be good to go by now.

Although it didn't happen, Fagen Fighters was hoping to have had their Zero flown up here to Minnesota ahead of December 7th a couple weeks back.

I was down there a couple of weeks ago and saw this aircraft. I mistakenly thought it was a different P-40 which I've seen before, so I didn't get too many pics. After I got back to MN, I realized my mistake. I wish I would've walked a little closer to it. But, in my defense, there was a lot of distracting eye candy in those hangars.

This will soon be followed by the first flight of Ross Pay's P-40N NZ3184 (42-105875), which is also nearing completion at Precision. Furthermore, a factory-style TP-40N, also nearing completion at Precision, will be completed/flying shortly following those two.

So NZ3184 isn't being restored as a TP-40N? For some reason they were one and the same.

I'm still confused on this one. Any idea as to the ID of the TP?
