Research Help: Museum aircraft lists

Sat Mar 06, 2021 1:51 pm

Hi all,
Are you bored? Stuck in the house because of CoviD? I have something for you to do!

I need some help compiling aircraft lists from the various museums. I basically need what aircraft they have and serial numbers. You can find alot of this information through internet research but this takes time. Considering the backlist of projects I have I figured I would ask for some assistance.

If you would like to help or just want to see the Museum list project so far, goto http://museums.warbirdsresourcegroup.org. If a museum listed there doesn't have a link then I need help with that museum.

In addition if a museum is missing (I know I'm missing quite a few non-U.S. museums) feel free to let me know and I'll add it.

Thanks for the help!

Hi Scott, If you are looking for current websites/links for any aviation museums try these; http://www.warbirdalley.com/museum.htm http://www.travelforaircraft.wordpress.com or Mike Henniger's very fine site at http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/Locator_Directory.php

(Type) (Dutch military registration) (c/n and-or other information)

Some of the airframes on this list may be airworthy with the RNethAF Historical flight (the ones with a civil PH- registration), a lot of them are in storage as the current museum doesn't allow them to display all their airframes. They also have quite a few 'doubles' in their collection that may serve as a gate guard somewhere or are on display at another museum.

Is this another one of those air parks not available to John Q Taxpayer to walk around and enjoy? I've never seen any planes around Denver besides what's around WOtR. I'd like to see all these bases spend some more tax money and move all of the airframes, ground equipment, etc to a spot where all can see and walk around, ala, Tinker, Edwards, Eglin, etc. Mini rant over. Thanks.
