No, known since 2010. I have had images of it for several years but it was kept quiet until finally an exchange could be made with the Indian Air Force Museum. With two Hurricanes now it bodes well for a flyer for the Indian Air Force Historic Flight.

So it only took just over 11 years to resolve. That's pretty good by Indian standards.

A friend who knows far more about Hurricanes than I do, comments that it looks like the prototype K5083! This one became instructional airframe 1211M in 5/39. Food for thought, perhaps.

This is fantastic news! Imagine what else remains undiscovered. But maybe even the bigger story here (that I didn't know about) is that the Indian Air Force is restoring alot of their vintage aircraft to fly?!

So which airframes will be restored? Do they have additional copies of these aircraft so if they crash will they still have a static example to retain for display? Exciting for sure.

I'd be very surprised if it was the Hurri prototype, the pic in the link above shows the later style 12-gun B wing so probably a MK.IIb or Canadian equivalent?
