Today was a day to say “I was there”, this deserves a thread all on its own.

Firstly this was the debut of Kennet Aviation’s magnificent Seafire restoration, second there was a possibly never to be repeated flypast of Seafire, Sea Fury, Sea Hawk and Sea Hurricane.

Bloody marvellous!

It would be remiss to single out any one individual, but a very big thank you to all at Kennet Aviation, the RNHF and Shuttleworth for making this unique formation possible.

Main display piccies to follow.

Four of the most handsome fighters ever made, and EVERYTHING looks good in dark grey over sky. What a magnificent sight that must have been. I just hope you're wrong about possibly never to be repeated and that folks get to see that again and again.

Not only your usual terrific pictures, Nick, BUT some terrific flying, especially that pretty tight formation of such different a/c in the 2nd picture. many thanks for sharing.

Wrong continent. This one's a Seafire XVII in the UK, the Ezell-restored one now resides in Montana (and is a Seafire 47, a different beast entirely)

Great shots. The folding wingtips are new too me. Interesting feature, I wonder if that was thought about for the Corsairs?

Yes, great pictures of an awesome, historic formation. I'd love to have been there. Thanks, Nick for sharing some slices of the action at Old Warden.

That would actually be 'Extra Dark Sea Grey' - and yes it was indeed a magnificent sight.

You are correct. I just didn't want to look like a color nerd. :)
