For those attending OSH, be advised that a WIX gathering (including food & bevs!) is being planned for Friday evening, 7/27. Text or PM Zack Baughman (WIX id "Zachary") or me for details, as we'd like to have at least an approximate head count for food prep.

One is a Piper, what's the other, I can't tell from the photos?
Will they fly?

I recently watched a video on YouTube of the WAAAM flying theirs...neat to see.

My bad, John...

Of the two, silver training gliders, one's a TG-8; the other a TG-6.

Anybody know what happened on runway 36 today at around 12:30? Happened right behind the post on the center field webcam.

Special Kay looked and sounded great in the WB show today. No parade pass though; they kept her over the crowd. Disappointed!

Is that birdcage Meteor the same one that used to operate out of Mojave back in the late '70s? (I should have a picture of it somewhere)

The Meteor is WA591, which up until just this year had spent all of its life in England. Following its active service life and then being used as a ground instructional airframe, it had become a gate guard in the UK up into the early-mid 90's. Following a 16 year restoration in the UK, it first flew again in 2011. It was sold last year to the World Heritage Air Museum and arrived in the US this past April. http://www.aerialvisuals.ca/AirframeDos ... rial=63132

Lon, perhaps you're thinking of Al Letcher's WD592?

I'm guessing that the Royal Navy Staggerwing (er, Traveller) is the Geneseo example? I'd heard that they were having it restored to original-delivery spec. Whether or not, absolutely gorgeous!

Hey Mark - that Staggerwing/"Traveler I" is registered as N582 to a Charles Haugh in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the history of ownership does show it at Geneseo with the 1941 HAGM from 2007 to 2014.

Judging ends on Thursday, and the awards are handed out Saturday night - the results of which are usually posted online on Sunday.
