I would love to know of its current status (WkNr.1983). I know that all of the work that was to be completed by Charleston was completed some time back, and the wings for it were in the process of being built by another company in Europe (also as of some time ago). I don't know how you could argue with the previous two flying Emils that have come from Charleston, but as I recall reading, this is perhaps the finest of them all.
I recall that there was a report in one of the UK magazines a few years back, that Bf-109E WkNr.4034, with Rare Aero, was also entering into a restoration program (restoration to fly) at that time, though I haven't read/heard anything about that project lately.
I've also more recently read that the very well preserved Bf-109E WkNr.3523, owned by the Friedkin family, which has been on display at Planes of Fame for a number of years, will be left as is/not restored after all.

The Bf-109E G-CIPB, registered to the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar, flew today. This is the first time that the aircraft has flown since 2010 (back when it was still owned by Ed Russell and then based in Canada).

Sorry to keep digging up this old thread, but with there last having been some discussion/question about the status of the restoration of Bf-109E-7 WkNr.1983 based in southern Germany (main section of aircraft originally restored at Craig Charleston's in England) - some photos have been shared today on the Key Forum taken back in July of the completed aircraft out taxiing around (see post #38):

By all means - keep digging it up. Perhaps a mod can change the date and this can just be the "Airworthy 109s" thread.
