Just got back from annual pilgrimage (23 straight years)...took over 1100 photos, will try and post some of the better ones from yesterday. One of the most "odd" Oshkosh trips I can ever remember but seeing the Mars fly was worth every penny (along with the L-1 and all of the Cadets). As expected the SB2C was down at FdL all day (along with their P-51) giving rides...FiFi was also absent, and due to the weather/night show quite a bit didn't fly. Only saw 2 F'4's and 3 F-86's. Bummer about the A-26 and A-20.

Wow, what an awesome variety of warbirds and they all look amazing! Great job to the owners and operators for keeping them in such great shape!

Maybe one of these years I'll bring one of the HUP's for display. :)

^^^ What he said!

I was surprised to see Fifi, didn't think she was able to make it this year? A bit startling to see Barbie III too.

Mars is not on the schedule today - I heard it tagged some lake bottom on landing yesterday and has a few leaks being repaired

The story I heard was they had indication of an engine problem after takeoff today, and returned to the lake to land. Upon landing, they hit something in the water which put a 3 inch hole in the hull. Apparently it was patched and the water was sucked out with the help of the Appleton Fire Dept.

Glad I saw it fly yesterday...she sure looked good!

Anyone know what happened on the east west runway today during the airshow? It seemed to be closed for a while.
