- when it had the registration N26WB, it was owned by the Whittington Bros., who converted it back to a "B" gun nose

and it is still sitting on the ramp at Los Cruces, NM, and is visible on Google Earth.

Mickey Rupp owned the A-26 (he also had a second one) between 1972 and 1974 when he sold it to Denny Sherman. Don Whittington (R.D. Whittington a/c sales) gets it in Feb. 75.

I think you're wrong on part two regarding the gun- nose. Documents show that the On-Mark nose, lavatory, and oxygen system was removed in Oct. 89 while in the ownership of the NWM at Geneseo. Don Whittington originally sold the A-26 in 1976 do a Dr. in MO. There are however photos of N26WB in Ft. Lauderdale beyond that date, as well as a lien against the Dr. by Hill Air Co. in FL for services rendered. So maybe the On-Mark never moved from FT. Lauderdale during this period. It then went through several other owners before ending up with the Wayne Co. Sheriff's Dept. in Detroit together with another On-Mark, a Jetstar, a 421B, two Cadillacs, a Corvette, and a Scarab speedboat. Having googled some of the the legal mumbo jumbo the short answer is; the owner in MI hauled drugs! The NWM gets it in July 88. The current owner then bought it in 1992.

Anyone else notice the other a-26 and b-25 in the background of the last posted pictures?

I agree with regard to the gun nose. However, the A-26 arrived at Geneseo with the nose installed...I think in the summer of 88 or 89. Relying on memory, Rick Korff bought the A-26 and donated it to the NWM. I think he was responsible for installing the gun nose and it might have been done at Buffalo.

I do remember it had a very nice (but 70s style) exec interior at the time.
