Ok, it's a 6A, not a 5A, a Super Cat with CW 2600's (with Hayes conversion style carb intakes), instead of P&W 1830's, the aforementioned color scheme , and clipper bow installation. Feel better now. :D

Oh...and this one is without its hull drain plugs installed too. Looks like Atlanta Aircraft Salvage will be taking it.

I blame the pilots for the loss of the aircraft. I hope the FAA asks them to "re-certify" all of their ratings. They simply weren't up to the task.

Aw, come on. If they took the care to get those props indexed so well for the inevitable photos they must have a good handle on the rest, no?

AAS called the museum I volunteer at as a pilot, to get copies of the hoisting information from the maintenance and erection manuals. There are two points at the center section that attach to each spar and run thru the tower that can be rigged. But, they need to get the weight below 21,000. The Super Cats I flew were around 22,100 lbs Empty Weight and the straight Cats 20,200 lbs. Depends on paint etc,. Off loading fuel and oil, may be a Federal and State EPA issue there too. If they can, they'll hoist it with a crane onto a barge.

The expense for all this is something I wouldn't wish to think about.
