Lets see the B-29 is 44-61669 which is now on display at March AFB
P-40 is one of the very first full scale fiberglass birds, the plane was used in the Baa Baa Black Sheep pilot
The P-39 is the Fort Nelson Bird

The last info I found which was a few years old said that the wings were in New Zealand while the fuselage was at Chino. I live near Chino and have seen MARCs storage yard but there doesn't seem to be a P-40 fuselage there.
Hi Ethan,
When this plane was recovered it was basically a pile of parts the wings went to Charles Darby to us in the rebuild of NZ3009 while the fuselage was one of the many P-40s loaded and shipped to the US by MARC. As for the location of the airframe now after David passed awy there was sort of a general cleanup of stuff in the Chino yard most of the P-40 and P-39 stuff went up to Barstow.

44-35888 never was in storage in Barstow, it went straight to MARC in 73 and stored in the backlot of MARC. It was in bare metal.
Both 44-34697 and 44-35888 are both still owned by MARC and at Chino

george wrote:Really interesting pictures, T J. When I visited Barstow in 1980 or 1981, there was only an A-26 hulk and the B-29, which was nosed up to the long wooden bay. I don't recall any parts of aircraft, or parts of any kind laying around, like are in your pictures. No one was at the airport. There was a small old worn sign that said Yesterdays Air Force.
I think the P-39 in your picture was moved over to March AFB.
