I'm going to try and get a site this weekend on webshots, Then I can post some pictures of the 88 show at Geneseo. Who's up to see 6 B-17s flying together? Wow I miss those shows. I also made the 1990 and I think the 91 show, I'll have to check. But all my airshow pictures are scanned.

That shot of the three Mustangs and staff car is pretty cool. I'd never seen these three aircraft (all owned by Bob Byrne at one time-along with about four others over the years) together. The furthest one down the line was his first, 'Rascal' (now flies as 'Old Crow' with Jack Roush) while the second was 'Rascal Too' (now flies as 'darn Yankee' in Holland), and the third one, a TF-51D, was 'Rascal III' (now flies as 'Crazy Horse' with Stallion-51). Bob Byrne was a serious collector from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He also owned two P-40Ks, a T-28, a WW I Spad replica, and several T-6s. I worked for him for a short time while attending A&P school at Detroit City Airport in the mid-'80s, where he based his aircraft. All the aircraft were sold off long ago, and I have often wondered (as have several others who have asked me about him) whatever happened to Mr. Byrne. Does anyone here know??? Thanks! Jim

Well Alfred, the first one looks like Pete McManus' 'Petie 3rd' and the second one looks like David Tallichet's 'Dixie.' Can't tell which one number three is though... Thanks for sharing all these photos. I have my doubts that that is Vern Raburn's 'Rude Invader' in the early shots though. Jim

Alfred, after reviewing the photo again, I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the third Mustang in your photo might be Elmo Hahn's 'Anastasia,' N51EH, now owned by Jim Cavanaugh..... But that's just a guess! :0) Jim

What you can't see unless you enlarge the photo is the fourth one in line with them. You can just see the tail poking out in the lineup.

You're right. I missed that one. Looks like it must be painted black, so that narrows it down a bit to Gary McCan's CF-FUZ, now with John Anderson... Am I close? If so.... Cookies please! :0) Jim

At this time I could not tell you which Mustangs those are. I went to that show at the last minute and on a shoestring budget. They stood out only as P 51's to me at the time. Up till now the only people with any interest in these pictures were myself and my father.

My how things have changed,
Lucy without paint
Fuddy without a chin
Manchester without a real terminal

the ramp where all these airplanes are parked is no longer there,
the end of the runway is now way off in londonderry somewhere,
the TSA is there
the view at the new end of the runway is really neat, sitting in the driveway of Aero Repair you can just about touch the 737s as they go by,
but theres no real warbird population there anymore, too commercial it has become, every once in a while you could catch Ed flying the Vamp.
now its SWA/NWA/RJ's/business jets

once again great pics!

BTW, Does anybody in your vehicle group have a military Beetle?
