All the best, Scott. Let the paperwork and the website slide abit and do what the nurses tell you.

Thanks Dave,

It's good to get support and I'm sure that Scott knows this too. Had some good news today, they tested the lump in the bowel section and it evidently was at the stage where it was pre-cancerous (likely to have turned Evil in less than a year). So I'm going out to buy a lottery ticket. If I win the major prize then I'll fund them to finish off Glyn's latest Mossie (if it's still without a sponsor). Probably the only way I will get to fly in one too.

When I had the chemo/radiation and surgery for the initial tumour back in 2011 it took at least a year to recover from the side effects, so Scott, I can appreciate a little of what you must be going through. Sounds like you have had a harder journey than myself - all I can offer to help is to relate what seemed to work for me.

My approach was to try and cope by living as normal a life as possible and almost to try and trivialise both the disease and the treatment. Not always possible I know as some days you just seem to hit the wall and all you want to do is lie down and rest. If you can manage to accomplish even simple things it helps you retain a sense of 'pre-cancer' normality, which is what we are all trying to get back to I suppose.

The very best of wishes to you Scott. If it helps then feel free to PM me for anything you may feel like discussing.

On a lighter note, since they removed half of my large intestine and stretched the ends to join them back together, I appear to have gone up a couple of octaves when wind is emitted. Whereas I used to be the envy of my classmates with the ability to render the opening bars to 'God Save the Queen' it now appears that I may be able to master the initial sequence to the 'Muppet Show' with a bit of practice.

There's always a silver lining.

Hope this provides some cheer,

All the best,

Barry
