Wiki says 3317 is the number built.

I think the best we Warbird fans can hope for is that Kermit Weeks completes and flies his Napier Sabre powered Tempest V.
Not much could be cooler than that :supz:

There is also a Sabre-powered Tempest V project with Richard Grace in the UK, recently registered with the CAA as G-TMPV

VWoC put a fighter on each wing of the DC-3 as it brought the vets to Rockcliffe. Did anybody get any photos of this?

Dave O'Malley will have an article out on the air-to-air soon.

Dave,

CWH has pictures on their Facebook page. They sent along their resident photographer on the flight. I am sure she had fun with the vets.
There are pictures of the P-51 with Mike and Peter and the P-40 with Rob and Dave over Ottawa .

This is the only place I have seen pictures of the veterans flight from Hamilton to Ottawa. There was the largest gathering of ex-Typhoon pilots, in quite a number of years, unlikely to be repeated. One of the significant reasons why the Typhoon came to Ottawa, was to pay tribute to the RCAF Typhoon pilots both past and present.
I am sure that Dave O'Malley will have a good article up on the Vintage Wings website.

As Mark says, there is great video of the P-40 and the P-51 on the wingtips of the DC-3 that brought the Typhoon vets to the Museum. Honour Guard Flight.

It's on Dave O'Malley's facebook page.
