Really glad to see the MAM website has been updated to show the 2014 airshow will be May 16-18.

I was worried there for a bit with the issues in the last year. Great show, if it stays dry!

Does anyone know if the Lancaster will be coming down from Canada again? - please!

Museum director reports that the Lanc is scheduled to attend. (Hope they don't test the "wing fold" system again!!)

With any luck at all, the weather will cooperate with us - for a change! We've had rain for at least one day of the show for 4 of 5 years. Statistically, seems kind of unfair!! If she doesn't get it right this time, Mother Nature will be on my excremental roster for sure!!

We can confirm the Lancaster is scheduled to attend. They both look and sound great together!

YES!!!

Loved the Lancaster the first time I saw it at Thunder...four Merlins growling/purring...don't get much better than that...unless ya add a real purty Mosquito :P

Now if I can just get my boss and the weather to cooperate

Does anyone know when MAM will start test flying in preps for the airshow on May 16-18, 2014? I would assume that many of the flyers have not flown in almost 11 months?

Really looking forward to this year- we have had our fair share of rain- so hopefully it will all be past by this year. Bring on the Mossie and and the Lanc! Well done to Mr Yagan and the team for what they do.

If you are on facebook take a look at the fighter factory's page. Fighter Factory is apparently the group responsible for the maintence of the MAM's aircraft... anyway a number of the aircraft are going through their annuals now and are being test flown in advance of the crunch of the airshow...
Fighter Factory's page is https://www.facebook.com/FighterFactory

let's hope for a safe flying season for everyone this year!

Folks, MAM started flying again on April 1st. This weekend the Stearman, Jenny and Curtis Pusher are all scheduled to fly for the wine festival. In addition, the museum flew the first of the rides that guests can now purchase in the Stearman and SNJ-2 (soon). Flying Sailor, I suspect you are correct, that many of the aircraft haven't been flown since last summer, and as such will be getting some "exercise" when the annuals that Fighter Factory are working hard to complete are done. We're back in air!!! Yahoo!!!! :D :D

In spite of the rain last May, I was greatly impressed with the MAAM Mosquito and CWH Lancaster, the rest of the MAAM aircraft and the other visiting warbirds. So much so that I am flying cross-country to experience them again this May. The museum is excellent and the whole setting is fantastic for photography with the tall trees on the other side of the grass runway for a backdrop. The aircraft take-off and land right in front of the crowd and the trees seem to magnify the engine sounds. The sight and sounds of the Mosquito doing take-offs at full power was spectacular and well worth my whole trip. What a place! I can't wait until May!

Dennis,

Be careful with your acronyms there. MAAM is the Mid Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, PA. MAM is The Military Aviation Museum in Virginia.

One too many "A's" there!! :drink3:

So, I'm going to the show. Anyone else?

I saw that Mr. Yagan would like another B-17 to replace Chuckie that was sold last year, any candidates?
