Following my first ever visit to Oshkosh last year I am now planning to attend again in 2014. I was wondering whether anyone was aware of any aircraft which may be attending this year?

Chris,

The GeeBee QED replica is scheduled to attend, and an MV-22 Osprey. Not many other announcements yet.

Announcements are made regularly on the event website http://www.airventure.org

At work (and my list is at home), but from memory the following have already committed:

WARBIRD:

B-17 "Aluminum Overcast"
B-24A "Diamond Lil"
B-25 "Devil Dog"
B-25 "Georgie's Girl"
B-25 "Panchito"
F4U-4 "Korean War Hero"
P-38 "Glacier Girl"
F7F-3 (Lewis)
TBM-3 (Deckert)
Fairey Gannet XT752 "Janet"
Texas Flying Legends fleet (No specific list yet)
Fagen Fighters (No specific list yet)
Rudy Frasca always a big supporter (P-40E? FM-2?)
Yankee Air Museum's C-47 makes some day trips.

I feel a little silly listing individual P-51D (since typically 20+ attend), but I think "Quicksilver" and "Gunfighter" have already committed.

Restorations reportedly targeting OSH would include:

B-29 "Doc"
P-51B/C Pacific Fighters "Berlin Express"
B-25 Fagen (Formerly "Sunday Punch")

I'll fill in more tonight...work beckons.

Can't wait! So many unique, authentic details and an actual WWII combat vet (it's no "data plate" rebuild either). A P-51D-20-NA restored exactly as such (fitted out with only the hardware/configuration it had originally during the war), with "factory" overspray, primered parts that have streaks from the "factory" dipping process, silver, blue, and red anodized as well as yellow iridite rivets (as per what was used at the factory), dull bare metal exterior, period fittings, original Alclad watermarks, inspection marks and stamps, acid etching (areas of spot welds), authentic ink-stamped stencils, etc...

Add the "Star of America" Super Connie whose first flight since 2005 is scheduled for next month.

Thanks for that, BK.

I knew about the desire to be airborne in April, but didn't realize that OSH was a destination this summer.

Anyone know how close the Germans are to having the Connie in Maine airborne?

Add a second B-17, as YAM's "Yankee Lady" is planning to attend for at least a few days.

So, how cool is A/B-26 Lady Liberty's new 2014 mission board?

http://a26ladyliberty.com/calendar-of-events-2/

The mission for OSH is listed as "special" (Translation = ?). My first thought was when Mama used to say I was "special" because I got to ride on the really short school bus. :P

Last info I have on the Starliner in Maine is that it should be totally reassembled sometime in 2014. No date has been given for the first flight but there is a possibility it could be sometime this year. Do not look for it at Oshkosh.

This sounds potentially interesting:

http://www.airventure.org/news/2014/140 ... plans.html

Looks like 2014 could be a very good year for vintage Vietnam Era warbirds between Oshkosh in July/August and Wings Over Houston in November.
