Hi
Im currently trying to restore the fuselage of Firefly WB440 to a static condition.

Im missing many parts both internally & externally.
So im looking for parts to help with the restoration.
Also need a static Griffon or parts.

Can anybody help?

Hmm... that's a tough one.

All I can really suggest is getting in contact with other people, museums, and organizations that have Fireflys.

http://www.warbirdregistry.org/fireflyr ... istry.html is a good place to start.

Then see if they can offer any help sourcing parts or maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Sorry I can't be over any more help than that.

Whaddya mean static? I expect to see it flying at Chino next year :lol: Good luck though. You definitely have some work to do. Not sure if maybe someone like Mike Nixon might have a bunch of non-airworthy griffon parts to at least build up a shell.

The progress has been very slow ,but still going!
Still in the process of dismanteling ready for cleaning & then eventually reconstruction.

I have also acquired another Firefly cockpit& rear fuselage ,& also a tail to help with the restoration!

Wow , those sizable extra parts to have acquired
While a long way a way & sort of still at war with Ethiopia, parts are still sitting (well one complete aircraft & possibly 2 fuselages) of ex Ethiopian Firefly's at Asmara, Eritrea. If they were Spitfires/P51/P47/P38 etc they would have been recovered a long time ago !

Thanks for the update. I see that you have been using the time to raise the funds and buy more parts before you start the restoration process. SMART!!! Do you have any leads on wings?
