1945 Airshow at Freeman Field

Mon Nov 25, 2013 7:14 pm

A friend sent me this link to a video taken at an airshow at Freeman Field in southern Indiana in 1945. On display were of the German and Japanese aircraft that had been brought to the US for evaluation after WW II. It's not the shapest video but probably state-of-the-art for the day.

Jack,
What a great find! The amount of flyable and intact axis aircraft is very noteworthy. Hopefully all WIX members will find the time to review this film clip. At the end, General Krueger is shown with his VB-17G in the background. Available records suggest this is 44-83547, which remained active until at least 1957.
