I know, I know, my dreams for this site often outstrip the temporal and monetary resources I have available. If I had let those limitations stop me then I would never have built the site in the first place. 17 years and 144,000+ files later we have what we have and 10,000+ people PER DAY pass through the site. It's been a roller coaster ride and will continue to be so but to wait until all the projects are done before setting up the next one means most will never get started. So, here is my latest mad scheme.

Patches. Since I was a boyscout I have loved patches. I have quite a collection of boy scout related ones and I have a bunch of military ones that belonged to my dad when he was in the Navy. I have never actively collected them as an adult mainly due to time, money and space constraints. Then it dawned on me that a virtual collection would be almost as good and much more easily shared. So if you have patches (and I know you do) and would like to contribute to the Military Patch Gallery then take a picture of your patch and send it to:

Image

Make sure you include as much information as you can about it (unit, service, date, etc...) and I will see about creating the framework for the gallery. If you don't know what the patch is then we can create a section for mystery patches and maybe get them identified.

So who's up for helping with this harebrained scheme?

I'm with you. As I have a chance I will try to scan my patches in. Mostly Air Force (that is what I did!) a few Navy and other.

Is that e-mail address correct? There's an "S" missing. Is that the way you have it purposely for a reason? EDITOR@WARBIRDSREOURCEGROUP.ORG

Anyway here's a few

I don't collect military patches, but I do collect B-17 patches from past and present touring aircraft and static museum aircraft. I started doing this back when I was crewing Chuckie. I was planning to have wifey sew them onto my flight suit to make it a B-17 themed suit, but that never happened. I am still collecting the patches, but I no longer have a plan for them.

What era(s) are you looking for? Warbird-related only? Current?

Primarily military of any era from any country? Warbird related ones are welcome too and will have a special section just for them.

The ones I have seen so far are great. Keep em coming!
