Dan, as much as I would like to see both P-40's go to Oshkosh, right now we only plan on bringing one from Fagen Fighters.

Appreciate that, D. You heard it here first, folks.

I know, I know: A Howard 500 is NOT a warbird.

But perhaps some of you might like to know that the planet's only two flyers are both planning to be at OSH.

CAF SB2C Helldiver now scheduling rides out of Appleton during OSH...guessing it'll be on display at Wittman by Friday (like FIFI).

FIFI and Diamond Lil presently scheduled to fly Friday's show.

A busy day of tributes to veterans planned for Friday, 8/2:

http://www.airventure.org/news/2013/130 ... s-day.html

Which brings us back to a familiar consequence of bringing so many warbirds, classics, seabirds, pilots, restorers, and fans to one spot: One simply cannot experience it all.

Decision time for WIXers: Experience PBY and veteran pilot Jack Morissey presentation at the West Ramp, or catch a pair of FM-2s and Conrad's presentation on the north end? Both are presently scheduled to start at 1:00.

For those at home, I wonder if you'll be able to catch both with webcams?

Even though it still says "2012", the North, Central, and South webcams are up and running this a.m.

Question for the AirVenture-attending WIXers: since about 2005, my wife and I have hosted a WIX gathering bbq/cookout on the Thursday evening of the event. This year we bought a house in town and no longer live in the EAA property just south of the museum. Jenn is still willing to prepare food for everyone, but we have doubts about whether it'd be worth the effort, as our new place is on the NE side of town over by Menominee Park (just NE of the main street restaurant/bar area) and it might be difficult to get people from the convention grounds over to the house.

I guess by way of response, how many of you (if any) would be willing to drive into town for a WIX gathering during AV???

Zack

You know it, Bear!

Make sure you and S.O. save me a stool; can't get there until Thur. a.m.

I absolutely love the gathering but think it will be more difficult for me to attend this year. I'll certainly try if it does go on though.

Hi Zack, I hope you guys have some sort of WIX gathering. I have never been lucky enough to attend myself, living in NZ, but the last few years I have really enjoyed listening the Warbird Radio live broadcasts from this annual gathering at your home. It always sounds like such great fun and I really hope the tradition doesn't get lost. Perhaps it could be held somewhere closer to the airport?

OFF TOPIC- I know, but I thought people might want to see the list of new food vendors this year:

I wonder if I asked real nice-like if Haase's would serve me a 40 oz prime rib like they do at the supper club (also serve 105 oz for bigger appetites :D )?

So, do any WIXers have a photo op wishlist (for those of us fortunate enough to attend)?

What's the head count for WIXers going to OSH? I was thinking we could all met at the Harpoon on one of the days at a certain time? I might even buy the beer? :drink3:
