I would not count on that happening. Holloman AFB had a "community day" scheduled to get around the sequestration, but was forced to cancel.

Its not going to happen. Even if it was, you "reporters" not being able to keep your mouths shut for fear of somebody else getting a story, have just let the cat out of the bag. So much for the military cleverly changing the name to get around something. You told everybody the game plan.

What I could see happening is the guard unit there at Reno launching airplanes while the crowd happens to be there and doing limited pattern work or something like that. All under the guise of training. Even that is a stretch and would probably get some guy fired.

Would be a he!! of a pattern since the Reno Stead airport is about 10 miles from International (where the guard keeps their C-130's).
That said they DO practice in and out of Stead now and then so who knows?
For being so cut-back there has been a fair amount of military activity in Reno. My office is under the easterly approach and lots of F-18's, etc. along with a LOT of multi-plane C-130 takeoffs and "circuits and bumps" lately.

This is wishful thinking thats going to get some people fired if they try and circumvent the current policy of no teams, no flybys, no statics, no pattern work and no single ship demos. I do not think nor do I believe there is a Military pilot at the Squadron or Wing level that is going to disobey a directive from the Secretary of the Air Force. We air show goers should not expect nor ask anyone to make a career ending decision such as this.

I know the air show industry is hurting, but trying to make end runs around firm policies is not the answer!

Cheers.

Tom Walsh.
