Hello,

I am trying to track some CV-240 Parts.. Anyone know of any parked ones that are scrap or any ideas where to trace it down? We currently operate one, doing a engine change currently.. But we need some more parts to keep in stock..

We also fly DC-3's here..

Welcome to the WIX you'll be amazed at how many folks will try to help you out.

First off, where is 'here'?

Your best bets for finding CV 240 parts would be in Alaska, CONAIR in Abottsford B.C. has been doing stretches and tankers on a few, or AMMARC in Tucson or the scrappers around the area there. There was, a couple of years ago a CONVAIR that was being broken up @ Chino, haven't laid eyes on a piston powered one in the Northwest U.S. in years and years.

I have 4 headers Part # 240-3590510-803. One is NOS and 2 repaired with 337s. Make me an offer. I need to clean out the garage.

Agree with Inspector. Where is "here"? Makes a big difference when trying to help source parts and know what you're looking for.

The stretches are done by Flightcraft in Kelowna BC. They had a stash of C-131/T-29s a few years ago but they were gone last time I drove by. Since they certainly did not fly out, I imagine the pieces of them are in Flightcraft's stores. Don't know as to whether they would sell anything, but surely no harm in asking.

Whoops! Should have said that. We are in Alaska. I work for Desert Air Transport. We operated 2 DC-3's and a CV-240. I have chased down most of those places however. Just trying to think of new ways to find parts and 2800's for it.

Never can look too hard, since we are always chasing parts.

Well, considering your current one came from Bud, have you guys tried calling him and/or Noel and talking to them? They only scrapped the 580's that were never going to fly again. The 240s should still be out there plus I think he's still got 1 240 down at Roswell.

Also, for R2800's, Ray Anderson is the guy to talk to - http://andersonaeromotive.net/

Yeah.. I am sure the owner has talked to them. we are just trying to see if there is anything out there we don't know about.

Yeah, we have talked to Ray and our overhaul shop, but some of the best running engines we have found, and ones that someone just happened to have that got OH in the 70's.. Never can exhaust our options.
