Hey guys, I know this is an odd question but I thought I'd throw it out there in the Vintage area.

When I was a kid, one of my favorite movies was a Disney made-for-TV movie called "Time Flyer". It was about a kid who went back in time and met his great uncle (?) or grandfather (?), who disappeared while trying to make it across the Atlantic before Lindbergh. A big part of it was the kid spending time with the guy, who had a big blue Waco biplane.

I've tried to find copies of it without any real success. There are collector's VHS copies for $75.00 or so, but that isn't what I'm looking for. I just want something I can let my kids watch, since they're getting old enough to enjoy it.

Any suggestions? I'd appreciate any intel at this point.

Thanks much--

Brandon

SWEET! Thanks Wally. I'd looked around but never seen that offer before...maybe I should have tried "The Blue Yonder" instead.

Thanks again!

Wilco Sir, figure it's the least I can do. If nothing else my kids (6 and 2) will love it.

Just finished it tonight. I was expecting it to be kinda flimsy and dated compared to when I was a kid...instead, while a few parts are cheesy, it's as solid as anything I've rented from Redbox in the past few months. Some absolutely great flying scenes with the Waco as well as a Tiger Moth used by the bootleggers to fly in their hooch. Also, the overview of the early Atlantic crossing attempts was very accurate.

It's still a LOT of fun to see, and the kids are going to love it. Thanks guys.

Good stuff. ill have to look at it again. anyone remember the movie about a kid who flys model airplanes and it picked on my his friends. he finds old man with a biplane ( moth? ) in disrepair and they fix it up with parts from a old chair or something? I think it was a british movie . it was on channel 13 (pbs ) in the 1980s.

Doesn't sound familiar to me, but it sounds like it'd be a lot of fun.

Shoot me a PM if you need some help tracking down a copy of Time Flyer.

Take care--

That was a 1984 Australian movie called Tail of a Tiger. I remember seeing it back then as well. Found the trailer on YouTube:
