Just added,

The Military Aviation Museum's B-17G Flying Fortress "Chuckie"!

EXCELLENT Addition to the lineup, Michael! "Chuckie," is a great looking airplane and it is good to know that Thunder will not be without a B-17 this year.

We are approaching the 2 month point to the show. Keep the announcements coming!

:D

The Military Aviation Museum flight schedule now has Thunder listed as an August date with the MAM Mosquito, Me 262 and Skyraider as participants. Anyone know anything about this?

No, I don't know anything about it...August date?

With the Thunderbirds and Super Hornet not attending are admission prices still the same or will they be reduced?

Cheers,
Rob

OK, other acts have changed the Thunder dates on their schedules to Aug 10-11 as well. It's still June on the show site and they made the point earlier that they would not change the date if the Thunderbirds canceled.

They have indeed changed the dates of the air show to Aug 10th-11th. They did so on Wednesday.

My guess for the reason is due to the fact that there are like two other airshows in the region also on the same date as we are looking to now attend these other shows as well.

We will still be able to bring our C-123k on the new dates.

I'm seeing a lot of unhappy campers already beginning to vent their frustration on other forums.

Yeesh, this could prove to be a very, VERY sore spot for a lot of people if the date change is official.

Cheers,
Rob

Website still shows the June dates...

I haven't booked a trip yet - but my mom booked a date with her doctor to get her knee replaced a couple days after the show when I come up there for a few weeks to take care of her. I was going to come up a week before her appointment so I could attend TOM - not sure if I will be attending this year now.

Most likely a smart move by Thunder.
Seeing how the CWH/Hamilton Show has secured some really big draw aircraft on the same weekend, Thunder will now be able to have them as well.
It is always a pain to the attendees when a date changes but the line up will be much better now that the date is
Aug.(from a line up point of view)
Most likely this date change is true and it is reflected in the various performers websites. Makes sense that they would be booked first and the date change abboinced second

I was wondering what was going on when the Military Aviation Museums ME-262 was booked for both Thunder and then confirmed for the CWH show. Now it all makes sense

Good for the locals maybe, but not for the people coming from out of town who booked flights already or other things - especially after they said they weren't going to change dates when we first heard about T-birds getting canceled.

Hopefully they will refund the people who bought tickets, ramp photography tours etc for the June dates that can't make it in August.

This will be the first I miss since 2007...

Looks like Sun N Fun is the only show I do this year - since I missed Tico and will miss Thunder, all the other ones I normally go to cancelled or will lack military/warbirds and not worth going to.

The 2013 THUNDER OVER MICHIGAN Air Show has not made any official announcements regarding a change of dates.
We appreciate everyone's patience during this turbulent air show season. We are looking at every option possible to produce one of the nation's best warbird shows in 2013.
We promise that the THUNDER TEAM will keep everyone up to date when official news breaks regarding our air show.
Regards,
Kevin
