Don't know but the ad says it was flown to Australia from Canada and also has extended range fuel tank installed.

Well, we know it was done "in the day" and the Nimrods story to Viet Nam is well documented. I'm just wondering how it would be done, in this day and age even thought was recently accomplished. Seems like a good story line for a Nat. Geo. or another documentary.

Yup, Tanker 2 ferried there in 2006. Some 10 hour hop legs and handfuls of Tylenol for the exhaust leaks and noise headaches. I'm sure there was short term and long term hearing loss involved.

Wow - that would be a long time at 10 hours! Of course today you could get some high end noise cancelling headphones but still, I'd need the tylenol for the backside aches!

I've been told that to get this to the US:

Flight time of approx 30 hours. Avg 205 kts. Approx 4500 gallons of fuel and 100 gallons of oil.

So at a U.S. Southwest region average cost of $6.14 per gallon thats about $27,630 in fuel. . . . and thats probably a bit conservative.

All of the A-26s used in Korea were flown over, and the ones that came back were flown. Flights of 4 with a B-29 nav lead.
