It's going to be incredibly tough to pick between this and Hamilton that weekend. Great addition to the lineup!

VERY nice addition to the lineup. Should be a great variety of Vietnam era, Cold War era, Korean War era and WWII era warbirds at Thunder this year. Keep 'em coming!

Is there a list going around with what is scheduled?

According to their site, Sky Soldiers will have 4 Hueys and maybe 1 Cobra at Thunder (tentative).

That will be nice! If confirmed that will mean 4 Huey's, 1 HueyCobra, a C-123K Provider, a C-1A Trader, an AC-47 Spooky and an Me-262 in the lineup so far.

Really looking forward to hearing what else is in store!

As well as the American Huey 369's (2) UH-1H Hueys. Making the total 6 Huey's so far!

Ryan - you are right! I meant to say 6 Hueys so far (assuming the Sky Soldiers reference from BK is confirmed).

I wonder if CF would consider putting their Charile model on a trailer and trucking it to Michigan for the event. Has to be cheaper in fuel and cycle times. This is a once in a life time event for any Huey owner. I also hope that event organizers start advertising in the Vietnam Veterans groups. These guys are not getting any younger and Im sure they would buy a ticket to see a flight of hueys again.

Is there a OH-6 on the list???

You guys need to have one and this is how you start the event!!! OH-6 at tree top level working the area looking. Cobra overhead circling at altitude. Loach jinks left, then right. He's taking fire............pops smoke and marks the area. Cobra rolls in for a rocket pass. Heavy NVA forces detected. Flight of Hueys sets troops on the ground. The ground war begins. Radio calls out for air support. A lone black raven (Karen's O-2) makes a hard circle and works the area. CF F-4 rolls in with a Napalm run.
2nd wave of troops hit the ground with the Hueys. as the fire fight continues. Crates are unloaded from this wave of hueys. Wounded taken out.
At the runway, the C-7 caribou or C-123 make the high rate decent, lands on the runway and stops, kicks a pallet out on the runway and rolls out for takeoff. (Caribou would be perfect!!!)
Spooky gets a call and makes a high circle overhead. Finish it off with a final Napalm run with the F-4. Make it fast and intense and I am sure the public will go home and never forget the history lesson. Maybe 15 min of intensity will last a life time and give a bit more appreciation to those who lived it for 365 days.

Perhaps we can get that guy who owns the F-104 near by to bring it to the show?

Jeff - BOTH of your posts cover what would be an OUTSTANDING Vietnam warbird battle segment. Even if the CF could not send both the F-4D and F-100F, Dean Cutshall's F-100F from Fort Wayne would be an outstanding addition. Even though it does not have the SEA camouflage scheme, in 1965 and perhaps even early 1966 there were F-100's in combat with pre-camo aluminum finishes. And I would add that hopefully an A-4 Skyhawk will be at the show also!

Plenty of options for air support and I bet they will have a great turn out with everyone. I will say that there will be some vets that will stay away as its "ive seen it before" but there are others that will want to bring there sons, daughters and grand kids. They will want to walk around the airplanes and kick a few tires, run a hand inside the intakes or step on the skid and sit in the doorway once again. I just hope they plan it out well and not just play "Ride of the Valkries" over the PA system while the Hueys fly by because the greatest critics will be watching and they dont deserve their history mocking a movie.
