Mike, I heard that they dropped Furias while it was in the sling? Know anything about that??

That is what I heard as well. Mark Hrutkay saw the wreck and he said it looks like the engine mounts are bent as well. This one isn't going to just buff out.

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I added a shot from the T-6 heats and a number of photos from the heritage trophy area.

Things should be heating up tomorrow.

Such a shame about Furias, but at least the pilot walked away so it must have been a good landing. I did notice that in the qualifying run photo that tailwheel was hanging.

I did not notice that. Interesting. Today the Yak, race #0, pull off the course after two laps with hanging landing gear. Fortunately it landed without incident.

The Thursday pics are now posted.

The pictures from Friday are now posted. They include one of each from the Unlimited Gold heat, and a shot of the F-22 Raptor demo.

I tapped it into my smart phone while returning from pylon #4 over rough "roads". I am surprised I didn't make any spelling mistakes as the truck was bouncing all over the place. 232 was leaving the Bear behind. I couldn't tell if 232 was pouring it on, or if the Bear backed off. Tomorrow should be interesting. When was the last time a Sea Fury was that close to first place?

I should mention these are unofficial results. If there was a pylon cut I wouldn't know.

I have flown with Stew Dawson in the past and he is a very smart and savy pilot that knows when to pour it on and when to hold back. I am hoping that he is in hold back mode at hte moment and is not risking the engine until the time to push it is right. He is also incredily respossible and again wont push it until it is absolutely necessary.

Defintly one of the best pilots I have been lucky enough to meet.

Word on one of the other boards is that the Bear is having temperature issues which is requiring Stu to have to back off the throttle after a couple of laps. The hope for tomorrow is that they can push Strega to break on the first couple of laps. Of course this could all be just hearsay as well! We will know more tomorrow afternoon.

Strega did a 508 first lap, didn't blow, and Rare Bear couldn't keep up. So how is that a strategy for Rare Bear? Seems like Strega should run two fast laps, everyone else will overheat or blow up and Strega can cruise the rest of the way.

And if Rear Beer has overheating problems, why wasn't it fixed for today if it was indeed fixable?

Strega doesn't havea history of blowing up, so I'm not sure what the strategy would be? Of course anything can happen in racing.
