I think three Mossies on the Oshkosh ramp next summer is an admirable goal...maybe a Twin Mustang or two for dessert... :wink:

Last year my mom informed me I have a cousin working on Bob Jens airplane(electrics) . As he is distant relative in more ways the one I dont know him yet. But having a relative in the industry makes me proud!

Three sets of twin Merlins would sound fantastic over the field: two Mossies and Reilly's XP-62.

Great pictures of the Mossie. Somehow the phrase, "The fuselage has been SANDED" just kinda' jumps out at ya'.

The way I understand it is that the Mossie will make ONE flight only in formation with Jens Spitfire over the north shore mountains and will then become a hangar queen. This was heard from the VAM crew a few months back. Things could change. Seems a lot of work to just sit.....

Probably Vancouver, where Mr Jen's Spitfire is.

Its Bob's airplane , These guys can do whatever they want , but that is crazy!!!!

The "North Shore Mountains" would be referring to the Mountains just to the North of Vancouver, BC.

I am happy to see Bob's Mossie getting work done on her. When I went to visit last spring it seemed like it had been pushed to the back of the hangar and little work was being done. But, as usual, projects at that stage of restoration never seem to be making much visable headway, even though they are trucking along. The engine installation certainly makes her look different!

Mark my words, I will be there to watch her first flight!

P.S. Bob's Spitfire hasn't flown since he bought it, from my understanding. It used to do regular engine runs. Oh the sound of a Griffon.... I don't even know what it would be like!

Hey Gang,

I flew over to Victoria yesterday with my Dad. We checked out the British Columbia Aviation Museum, George's P-40, Bob's PBY-5A, and.... umm... that thingy with the wood and the two whirly bits... or right... the other Bob's de Havilland Mosquito.

All I can report is that she's in the paint shop and the people at Victoria Air Maintenance expect her to be in the air by the end of the year.

Count on me being there for it's test flight!
