Boeing did send research/historical group to investigate the aircraft in the early-ish/mid-ish 60's. They determined that glacial actions had flipped the airplane over and broken it in two, so I would assume since some shots are obviously from a C-130 flight deck that's when these were taken.
The Boeing folks did some aircraft archeology but beyond publicly stating that items like coffee in thermos' was still drinkable and candy bars while flash frozen, were also perfectly safe to eat. I don't recall anything else being made public and would suspect the info is buried somewhere in Boeings archives.

Those look like some of the images I remember, but wasn't the Gal in Greenland?

"Over Greenland three of the aircraft were forced to land by the weather, including My Gal Sal" ... from Wiki

Another pic but the tails seems to be further away from the main fuselage.

I personally took this pic from the NARA files. I believe this is the plane in question. Note the official comments.

That doesn't look like My Gal Sal at all... That actually looks like the Liberty Foundation's B-17.

When they recovered My Gal Sal she was a horrible looking state...

Off the top of my head, I only know of two B-17 crews in Greenland that were rescued by Navy planes (PBY's) landing on the ice cap/lake. The one was the PN9E crew (see the current PBY thread) and the Sal. It's possible there may be others but these are the two I'm familiar with. We haven't located any PN9E pics and that one broke in half and was dangling in a crevasse. They went down in Nov '42. If anyone has any PN9E pics, I'd love to see them!!!! :D I know some were taken.

Here's another pic. Note the flag flying in both pics.
