Since I don't see a tail number in that picture, here's what the 79th FS has to say about MC-E.
44-14365 P-51D 79th FS MC-E Barnard Lt. Donald M. Corky a/c crashed on training flight 23 July 45 - Lt. R. Crawford
44-14365 P-51D 79th FS MC-E Bullers Lt. Walter E. Bud's Comet a/c to Barnard
44-14365 P-51D 79th FS MC-E Daniel Capt. Thomas J. Danny Boy a/c to Bullers

Mudge the researcher

I remember seeing this mustang in 87/88 @ oxnard airport in this(above) paint scheme shortly after Rhino purchased it.

Shouldn't it have a small 2 as a squared symbol after the C?! Einstein nose-art maybe?!

Cheers,
Matt
