From Mark's original posting about the L-39 on Pawn Stars, these pages sure desinigrated (sp?) into thin air. Someone start a Reality TV show posting in the Off Topic page, lets keep the posts on the subject. I quit following several other boards for this exact reason. Okay, ducking now for the flames to follow.

The other boards are worthless.
I also dislike all the dozen or so sticky notes.
They push all the other posts onto the second page.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Jack and I might take exception to that... 8)

Just remember two things.....first, "Jets are for kids"....second, "Fighter pilots make movies, bomber pilots make history."

Trust me, I wear that puke title proudly! Nothing like grabbing and "E-dawg" and throwing him/her in your seat while you get get up and go grab a couple of coffee, take a piss, stretch your legs, and then get back in your seat, all while wearing sage green PJ's.

+1 on the fighter pilot statement.

To appease the masses and stay on topic, did that L-39 actually get pawned? I would think hawking an airplane would be a colossal loss of money. Pawn shops seem to always lowball people, so bringing them to a shop, and regardless if they asked a pilto or not, seems like a lose-lose situation. Clearly it was done for ratings and to be different.

Auction Kings on the Discovery Channel brought a Grumman Tiger/Cheetah/American and that was a flop, but then again, wouldn't it have to be? How can you hawk something that only 1% of the population is eligible to fly?

Of course, there's a second part of that "Jet's are for kids" statement, which is "Props are for boats".

No, and it was never up for sale, as some of you have guessed, it was done for promotional purposes only. On a side note the aircraft they showed on the ground is now sitting in Lancaster, Tx and they used a second aircraft for in the in flight filming.

Umm... that's the airplane we're talking about in this whole thread - the L-39. Welcome to the discussion. ;)

Just for the sake of not starting another thread on "Pawn Stars" I will post that on next Monday's episode they will be taking the Old Man for a ride in Aluminum Overcast!

Hope they are not trying to pawn or sell her!! :axe:
