This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

if i was able to obtain a corsair in that condition for 50k or lower i think i would really try to get financing and grab it up. Then just slowly work at it. At least you can say you own a p-40, even if it's not in that great condition.

Apparently that sale did not go through because it is still available on ebay and includes an explanation about the "buyer" claiming to have clicked the button by mistake.

More likely scenario: the buyer's reality check bounced. . .

Any one have any information about any of the P-40's scattered throughout Florida? I'm heading there in a couple of weeks in search of two different P-40's but both are E-1 models.

Can you pass along the airboaters contact information to me? I want to see if it is one of the two I'm going after.

That sounds like a pretty dirty/underhanded thing to do. he must think it's worth that, just like you think your parts aren't cheap, maybe he thinks his coordinates aren't cheap, sure wouldn't ask any of your buddies to go around your back.
I wonder if you would run off at the mouth like that to my face. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooby.Have a nice day

I don't own an airboat but I had found the two P-40N models near the Swanee River in the mid 80's. I traded some of the parts and the two sites to Hal for a Merlin engine. I had posted a photo of myself in the mud on one of the earlier posts on this P-40.
So I guess I should take the money in CASH before I talk?

I don't have that number I lost it long ago. He had an advert on Barnstormers about it in 2002-3 timeframe. I think there are still some remains down here in FL if one has the time and patience to seek them out. If you can find that data plate you are good to go. I'd like to think there is a warbird in my future one of these days but I might have to settle for just part of one.

Now that is funny!
I guess my only thought is that if this airframe is on public land a person could be walking on thin ice anyway with the BLM or State. If it is on private property then you have every right to ask whatever you want for it.
