Not sure.,. seems like a plausible concept.

I did read that the one that crashed was an older model.

The "Ghost Hawk" is the real super stealth chopper.

I heard a radio interview with a former SEAL Team Six officer who has written a book with an "insiders" view on the mission.

I believe he called it a Stealthhawk...but he didn't go into any detail on the helicopters.

There seems to be inconsistencies in the stories of when the helicopter got into trouble.
Early stories (and a recent quasi documentary I saw on TV) put the problem incoming later sources on the way out.
I am sure that not all the features of the H-66 disappeard with the cancelation of the project
