Aluminum Overcast was my first. Seems like alot of money to some but it was worth every penny. I was lucky enough to be able to get my wish, I was on the flight deck for startup, takeoff and landing. You can just barely make me out here behind the copilot with my video camera.

Derek
Make sure you hang around and watch Ol' 927 fly in the afternoon. Better yet sign up for a ride at the reduced rate of $299.

What time is she going to take to the air? My T-6 flight is at 11:30. Are you and Dave M. going to be around at that time also?

-Derek

Three flights
1230
1400
1600

I will not be there, I have a board meeting here in West Texas on Friday night. I do not know about Dave.

Enjoy your "6" flight. I have a lot of time in the backseat of several different Sixes, and enjoyed every second

My first was last year in a UH-1H Huey (69-15354) that flew 1417 combat hours in Vietnam in 1971-2. It served with the A/101 AHB, 101st Airborne "The Comancheros." It was part of the Sky Soldiers ride program.

First warbird ride was in a PT-17 from Falcon Field (FFZ) to Carefree Sky Ranch when I was in junior high....maybe early high school.

First warbird that I flew was an SNJ-5 at New Bedford, MA

I was killing an afternoon snooping around among the T-hangars at the airport in Coldwater, Michigan, when I stumbled on a gentleman preflighting his immaculately restored PT-19. Sadly, I've forgotten his name. He said he was waiting for a guy to show up for a ride. We chatted for awhile, but his rider never showed. He told me he was gonna fly anyway, but he hated going up with an empty seat, and said "if you don't have to rush off...." I think I was in the plane before he managed to finish the sentence. 8)

After we landed, his father came by..and he had an equally pristine PT-26 in a nearby hangar in RCAF markings.

That would be Mike Kelley. I met him at the fly-in at Coldwater this past summer. Mike still owns a PT-19 and has a hangar full of PT-19/23/26 parts including several fuselages and sets of wings. Must have been a sweet ride!

My first ride was this past June At MAAM air show at Reading, PA. It was aboard FIFI and was it great. But really made it special was about a hour before my flight, I was sitting waiting to go when I notice this older gentlemen approaching where we were sitting. He had on a boarding pass in the same flight, so I quicky started up a conversation with him and I could harding believe what I was hearing. This man was a B29 pilot during WW2! We talked for 45 minutes or so with him and his son before they called us to board FIFI. I just wish I had a tape recorder. I asked him alot of questions about his missions (23 if I remember correctly) He told me a lot of things that I never could imagine. I will not forget that day, one for talking with Frank and second my ride aboard FIFI.

First Warbird flight was in a BirdDog flown by Dave Pierson sometime in the mid 80's in Oshkosh. My dad went up with his friend Bill Davies and got a shot of me and my sister. Anyone have any info on either of those two gentlemen?

My first warbird ride was on the Collings B-24J from IKK to VPZ on July 25, 2007. I have since flown on this aircraft several times as well as their B-17 and B-25. :D
