Long time no post...slightly off topic ( and then also on topic for a few other reasons ) VolkSchmitt...

But I know you will all appreciate....when the real McCoy is out of reach......what is one to do.

I know...I know....some may argue of the modifications & damage done to the original (air)frame  But at least the scheme seems fair for the era...HEHE...well minus the swastika which is missing

Nothing will drop the mood @ a modern VW cruise-in quicker than to say 'BOY, those guys at the Mexican plant do build a good looking Jetta' since every modern VW is Hecho en Mehico
I like it too! It's no more outlandish than Fooses' P-40 themed Model A roadster of a couple of years ago-Might have been worse reaction if he'd cut up a 'split' they're gold to bug guys!

That's hilarious...

Here's something with which to score a victory over the Volkschmitt.

Thats sweet! I always loved the chopped bugs, bet that flat four sounds wicked to! And not to nitpick but I believe some VW`s are still made in Germany and shipped over, my dad has a 2010 GTi and it was made in Germany

That's the wrong grey for that model VolkSchmitt and the chevron should be 0.25" higher and... oh, never mind

Both of these cars warm my heart in ways I cannot explain. :) The Bug because, well, it's an outstanding interpretation of Galland's 109 (I could do without that "Gott Mit Uns" on the dash though), and the Studebaker because how awesome is that?! My 87 BMW 325 needs a repaint and I've been toying around with doing a Luftwaffe scheme on it (minus the national markings)... the license is "FW 190A3", so I've sort of limited the number of schemes I could choose from, LOL. I wonder if I could get Jerry to pay for the repaint into JG 2 colors if I put the museum's logo on the back end...

Thanks for sharing these, they're fantastic! Let's see some more!

Neato! That's a wicked angle-chop on the Beetle and it has a perfect stance. The whole execution is great! :D
