I'd like to learn more about marking a T-6G accurately. The airplane in question is already wearing what appears to be an appropriate yellow scheme with buzz numbers. It might need some stencils or possibly the ATC badge.

Let's say the owner likes red - can anyone supply some historical photos that show red fins or other details from training or hack uses?

Thanks,
Ken

NASM has the T-6G microfilm for sale.
Markings and stencils are included on some of the prints as per AF specs.
Outfit and squadron markings is a different matter.

Here you go: Red cowling, red wheel covers, red-faced pilot... :drink3:

Guatemalan AF during the 1950s @ La Aurora airport. [And, not a T6-G, AFAIK]

Unless, the guy wants exclusively US markings?

Saludos,

Tulio

Thanks, Tulio. Yes, the goal is to keep the yellow 1950's G-model scheme but to add red highlights ... ideally using an accurate example as a template.

Subject: USAF T-6 Marking Question

Stoney wrote:

Thank you for the small correction. It is my belief -but I will have to actually conduct some research on the subject- that the airplane flies just the same, whether it is a T-6G or a T6-G. Frankly, when I posted the photo, I was interested in providing a color image for the requested purposes of the original poster, and not concerned at all, where the dash should go in the airplane nomenclature.

I stand of course, corrected, but I cannot promise that I will not commit the same mistake again. :drink3: :drink3: :drink3: :drink3:

Saludos,

Tulio
