I apologize. That wasn't my point.
I was trying to say that I couldn't tell that the bandwidth was exceeded...

While it will take much longer to look at them you can right click on the icon where the image would be, copy the URL information ending in .jpg and post it in a new window.

Example below.

Sorry guys!

This is a bigger post than usual for me and I never bumped up against photobucket's bandwidth limit before.

Below is a direct link to the gallery you can browse. I don't know if this is subject to the limits or not. Note that you cannot just click the hotlink below, you have to cut and paste the line into your browser because of the space before the 2011 at the end.

I will try to repost with smaller images at a different host tonight.

Thanks for the compliments, those who could see them!

August

August, I still can't get the new link to work. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos, as I never did get down to the display area before things turned crazy...

In case it doesn't, I have put the same photos in a webshots gallery that I'm sure everybody can access:

http://rides.webshots.com/album/581133578KEiJZq

I'll still try to fix the top post in this thread with new links, but I don't think webshots has a way to mirror the full sized images in a forum thread the way photobucket does.

Thank you, and very nice work! I'm really sorry I didn't get to see the P-40C -- I do love the Curtiss Hawks...

If you think about it, we got to see a P-40 C, E, and N, and a P-51 A, B, and Ds all on the same day. Pretty good variant spread. Also a good day for Grummans, with F3F, FM-2, F6F, F7F, 3 F8Fs, Widgeon, Mallard and Albatross. And it's hard to think of anyplace besides Oshkosh where you can see more T-6s together. It takes some work to perceive Reno as a "warbird show" because the focus is on the racing and the planes are divided up between the pits and display areas; but if you do the tally, it's one of the better warbird shows around. I only wish that they flew some of the heritage contenders as one of the between-race airshow acts.

August

P.S. I have replaced the links in the top thread of this post with links to smaller versions of the pics, so when my photobucket bandwidth resets -- hopefully in a couple days, on the 1st of the month -- they should be visible and last a lot longer.

P.P.S. In exchange for you guys being so patient about this thread, I do have some original slides from the 1969 Reno races that my late friend Dick Kamm took on his only visit there. I'll post them if there's any interest. Mostly it's just some old Mustangs and Bearcats and stuff.

I would very much like to see the 1969 images -- before my time and I do have a great interest in Reno history.

Also, I have always thought of Reno as one of the world's great Warbird shows. Not only for the variety, but also because it is the only place to see Mustangs and Bearcats and such doing what they were built to do, which is to go fast and stretch their limits. The sounds are incomparable!

Thanks again for the photos, August...

Anyone still interested in more from Reno 2011? If so I'll see if I can stay under Photobucket's bandwidth limit:

Excellent photos, Neal! High G Club or a secret spot? Must be on the east side of the 'infield' with that sun angle.

No Blue Angles Bearcat, Pogo - walked past her many times and thought I had all weekend to get a photo.

Only Bearcat I got was the CAF example in the Navy Heritage flight:Image
